Modena is now called The Capital of Engines as the car manufactures of Ferrari, Bugatti, Maserati, Pagani and De Tomaso are all based in the town. The car manufacturer Lamborghini is also just a short distance away in a small village in the province of Bologna.

Away from Bologna and Modena are more fascinating places to visit such as Ravenna which houses the Byzantine masterpieces, Parma where you can see the medieval baptistery of Benedetto Antelami, the Malatesta Temple in Rimini as well as the seventeenth century sanctuary of Madonna della Ghiara in Reggio Emilia.
