Quinta da Ria Golf, situated in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve has already been described by experienced golfers as the most beautiful course in the region. In fact, perched above the Ria Formosa Estuary, the views down to the sand below, the tidal waters and the ever flowing currents are quite breathtaking. This magnificent course is known for its high standard of maintenance and favourable playing conditions. Attention to detail and beautiful surroundings make Quinta da Ria one of the most popular courses to play on their Algarve golf breaks.
Hole 14
A simple looking hole, but requiring an accurate tee shot to find a fairway that has out of bounds on the left and water on the right. The second shot tests your distance control and nerve as an approach normally played from between 120-150m must be played over water to an undulating green that has greenside bunkers at the rear of the green.
Hole 16
A memorable hole. The tee shot must be played with the risk of out of bounds on the left and water on the right. The second shot then has to be threaded between water which borders both sides of the fairway. Again a positional shot here is advisable, remembering that the fairway slopes a little from the right to the left. An accurate approach to this undulating green will always reward you.
Hole 17
This hole is a testing par three requiring a mid-iron approach to a green that has water in front and to the right. Players opting for a conservative line to the left must negotiate a bunker which is strategically positioned on the left side.
