Golf in Italy doesn't get much better than this. Founded in 1963 Golf Club Verona was originally built as 9 holes after a group of Italian gentlemen bought some property and land to the west of Verona, the second 9 holes were built a short time after to complete what has now become one of the most prestigious golf clubs in Italy for you to play on your golf in Italy trip. The course with its par of 72 and length of 6054 metres is a delight to play if you are coming to play golf in Italy. The course has been designed and built among vineyards which are framed by the Custoza hills to the west of Verona and this gives the course an immaculate and picturesque landscape for your golf in Italy trip. The original 9 holes were designed by John Harris and the second 9 holes were designed by Baldovino Dassu and Alvise Rossi Fioravanti, Dassu being a prominent and well respected golf professional of similar standing to Constantino Rocca who nearly won the British Open in 1995. The first 9 holes provide a real golf in Italy journey along fairways that are set amongst copious vegetation and the greens are protected by various mounds and well placed bunkers. The second 9 holes continues the picturesque theme but its fairways which are wide and undulating provide a different test of golf to the front nine but because of skilful architecture the test is harmonious with the original 9 holes. Golf Club Verona being one of the most prestigious clubs on your golf in Italy trip, prides itself on its friendly and efficient staff who are most welcoming and helpful. The clubhouse is very comfortable and stylish and pleasure to spend time relaxing in after your round of golf in Italy. The club has, and still does, host many tournaments these have included 2 Italian Open PGA tour events, various Italian championships and several Pro-Ams. So this course is a must to play if you are wishing a round on a prestigious course and a club steeped with history and tradition, which is not bad for a course which was first opened in the early 1960’s and now attracts many who come to play golf in Italy.
