This course is actually quite deceptive as golfers on their golf holiday to Lisbon will testify. First thoughts of Santo Estevao is it looks rather open and quite easy, but don't be fooled. Positioning off the tee and well struck and accurate iron shots are a must on this course. So if you don't want to be the one who shoots a high score on this course during your Lisbon golf holiday, make sure that you think your way around Santo Estevao very carefully. 

Hole 1

The first hole on the course is an easy par 4, that allows for a smooth entry to your round. Only 262 meters long (yellow tees) and a wide fairway, there is room for error on your tee shot. You can even play an iron off the tee and still reach the green with your second shot. A more competitive player may opt to hit the driver directly towards the green, giving himself a good birdie chance on the very first hole.

Hole 8

The 8th is a 475 metres par 5 (yellow tees), which usually has favourable wind, from north to south. Place your Drive left of the 2 deep bunkers. With your second shot, avoid going right again, because there are two more bunkers there, and, further right, it is out-of-bounds. The green is very undulating and difficult, as are most greens on this course, and it is surrounded by deep bunkers.

Hole 11

One of the prettiest holes on the course, it is also one of the most difficult. This long 399 (yellow tees) metre par 4 is a dogleg to the left. Do not try to cut the dogleg unless you can hit a massive drive to carry the bunker on the left. Play your Drive to the right side, which is more forgiving and gives you a better angle to attack the green, but still be careful to avoid the bunker on that side of the fairway.
