The Royal Golf Club Marrakech

Opened in 1923 by the Pasha of Marrakech, The Royal golf club is one of the oldest golf clubs in Morocco and is in fact one of his Majesty King Hassan II's favourite golf courses. Which is a great reason for playing here during your golf holiday. Its original design of 1933, by Arnaux Massey, the 1907 British open Champion, Bouchaib Stitou and Gustave Golias is constantly being renovated and improved. The par 72 course measures 6200 metres and sits at the foot of the imposing snow covered Atlas Mountains. The extreme beauty of the course has been know to put many off their game as they become more engrossed with the surroundings than their golf. Winston Churchill has in fact played here. This "English style" golf course winds its way through profusion of Cypress, Eucalyptus, Palm, Olive and Apricot trees, and with its strategically placed bunkers and tall trees protecting its fairways and greens this is a real test for any golfing ability during their golf holiday here. The 15th hole is one hole that the locals recommend you put your golfing head on as there is great skill and accuracy required to play this hole well. The course like Palmeraie is only around 12Km from Marrakech city centre so there is minimum travelling time during your golf holiday, to get to this truly wonderful course.
