Wild Coast Country Club

The course at Wild Coast has been described as a remarkable experience for your golf in South Africa trip. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Junior it opened in 1983 and with its par of 70 and length of 5807 metres, the course looks like it may be an easy stroll but this is very deceiving. The course climbs and descends through ravines and dams and also across spectacular waterfalls giving breathtaking views of the rugged terrain and the Indian Ocean. This is a real must to play when you come to play golf in South Africa.

Umdoni Park Golf Club

Umdoni Park Golf Club is a real treat to play during your golf in South Africa trip. The name Umdoni, refers to the water berry tree found on the estate, the course is part of an area on the South African east coast known as the Umdoni Park Trust. Designed and built in 1921 by its creator Sid Brews on land owned by Sir Frank Reynolds a leading sugar industrialist, this par 72 course measuring 5572 metres provides an incredible golfing experience on your golf in south Africa trip. 

This course has an incredibly high reputation amongst golfers in the Kawzulu Natal region. Set in a truly beautiful location the course wanders up, down and through some very hilly and striking terrain giving magnificent views of the inland countryside and more strikingly across the Indian Ocean.

Southbroom Golf Club

Southbroom-golf-course.jpgSouthbroom Golf Club is an interesting course to visit it is the furthest of our courses from Durban but well worth the drive south to play a round of golf in South Africa. 

Opened in the early thirties it was originally only 9 holes and was designed and J Naven and built by Frank Eyles. In 1948 Al Mandy then designed and built an additional 9 holes and it became know as one of the most pleasant courses to play along the coast when playing golf in South Africa.

Selborne Golf Club

Set in the Selborne Estate and is regarded as one of the top venues when coming to play golf in South Africa.  It winds its way through lush and interesting vegetation and with its undulating terrain and many water hazards it makes for an interesting test and with its par of 72 and length of 6040 metres it is a pleasure for all levels of golfer. Although the course is set in an estate, which is common when playing golf in South Africa, it has many private houses and a first class hotel the buildings do not interfere with the course thus not removing the enjoyment of the golfers round

Durban Country Club

This is one of the most prestigious clubs in the Durban area and a must to play during your visit to play golf in South Africa.

This is a naturally undulating course which has been built in high dunes by the Indian Ocean and the holes flow through dense tropical vegetation. The opening 5 holes which are quoted by many as, it’s as good as it gets in the world, take full advantage of the terrain and the 3rd hole has been described as one of the best par 5’s in the world let alone when playing golf in South Africa.

Beachwood Country

When playing golf in South Africa, Beachwood Country Club is a must to play. Situated near Durban, the course was built in 1930 and in 1995 it was amalgamated with Durban Country Club, which is just a 5 minute drive away and has now become known as the Beachwood course at Durban Country Club.

The course was originally designed by Percy Gilbert Stiebel and was redesigned by the great Gary Player in 1995 when the courses were amalgamated thus making for a fantastic 36 hole complex to play golf in South Africa at.
