This is one of the most prestigious clubs in the Durban area and a must to play during your visit to play golf in South Africa. This is a naturally undulating course which has been built in high dunes by the Indian Ocean and the holes flow through dense tropical vegetation. The opening 5 holes which are quoted by many as, it’s as good as it gets in the world, take full advantage of the terrain and the 3rd hole has been described as one of the best par 5’s in the world let alone when playing golf in South Africa. The course was designed by Laurie Waters and George Waterman and has a par of 72 and measures 6017 metres in length. This course because of its standing has hosted 14 South African Open Championships which really shows how highly regarded it is, by anyone who knows about golf in South Africa. Facilities at the club are of course first class and although there are some restrictions on visitors you will be made most welcome and full use of the bars and restaurants in the Dutch style clubhouse building are available.
