For many years now golf holidays to South Africa have been very popular with golfers from all over the globe. Tee Times golf Agency UK has recognised this and have the pleasure of offering our clients two wonderful areas to visit for their golfing breaks.
Tee Times Golf Agency UK’s two designated regions for our golf holidays to South Africa are the Durban Coast and The Western Cape (Garden Route). These two wonderful regions both offer amazing coastline golf courses, fantastic accommodation and the chance to experience the friendly and welcoming hospitality that the South Africans are so famous for. If you have never visited South Africa before then you have really been missing something special, not only do they boast some of the most spectacular and awe inspiring golf courses in the world but they also have one of the most amazing cultural histories of any country in the world. Before the country was discovered by the Europeans, mainly Dutch & English, South Africa was dominated by 4 black tribal groups, such as the abaNtu and the Hottentot as well as the San Bushmen. In fact some fossils, dating back some three million years have been discovered in the Sterkfontain caves just north of Johannesburgh, and these are believed to be the remains of the entire human races early ancestors. There was much movement across the country between these tribes as they looked for new settlements and there is evidence to suggest that there was trading between them, with the ancient Chinese, Arabs & Persians as far back as one thousand years ago. Obviously South Africa has changed a great deal since then and with the abolition of Apartheid in the early 1990’s, after being in place since the mid 1900’s, the country has gone from strength to strength and has gone out of its way to encourage all forms of tourism, so Tee Times Golf Agency UK recommends that you experience some of the other wonderful things to do while on your South African golf holiday, such as day safaris, boat trips & fishing, and for the ladies who may wish to join the trip there are some wonderful beaches, great cultural site seeing tours and of course great shopping. There is also the opportunity to take a helicopter ride over the amazing landscape and why not try a vineyard & wine tasting tour to sample some of the world’s finest wines. The golf is obviously highly recommended in both our South African destinations but do take time out to experience this great country during your visit. Both regions have their own unique culture, history, wonderful sites & relaxed atmospheres, which is why we at Tee Times have picked them for your enjoyment. The flying time to South Africa from the UK is obviously quite long, around eleven hours to the Western Cape & twelve and a half to Durban but don’t let this put you off, as once you reach your destination you will realise that is was certainly all worthwhile. So if you are looking for a great South African golf holiday and wish to have the chance to mix it with some other interesting activities contact us at Tee Times and we will be happy to put your trip of a life time together for you. All accommodation, golf & vehicle hire will be pre-booked ready for your arrival and we will provide you with flight times, dates & prices and you will be referred to our flight provider who you can book directly with if you so wish.
