The staff at Tee Times Golf Agency UK have personally been on numerous golf holiday trips abroad and although you maybe a frequent traveller yourself here are some tips for do's and don'ts when going abroad. These are not meant to be patronising but we see a lot of frequent holiday makers who make the same mistakes time and again! Remember we are only here to help!!
- Don't forget your passport and make sure it has at least 6 months left until it is invalid.
- Obvious statement, but keep all flight and travel documents, passport, driving licence etc safe when travelling to and from your golf holiday, but easily accessible if you need them.
- Check your flight times for your golf holiday before leaving for the airport, there's nothing worse than getting there and your flight is delayed and you're sitting at the airport for hours.
- Get to the airport at the time recommended by your airline, airports are now very busy and because of security checks it takes longer to get to your seat on the plane. Remember it's your responsibility to catch your golf holiday flight at the correct time, contrary to what you see on TV with Easy Jet!!
- Try to take the least amount of hand luggage on your golf holiday, none if possible, you can get through security quicker and you won't upset as many of the other passengers on the plane as some people do!!
- Make sure you have up to date travel insurance, it is actually illegal to travel without any insurance! If you require one we can recommend a company who sells them or you can just have a look on the internet to buy one. Make sure you take the relevant documents with you on your golf holiday, just in case!
- Make sure you stay within the baggage weight allowances, in our experience they seem willing let you fly out from the UK slightly over weight but when you check in your luggage on your return flight from your golf holiday they will not give you the same discretion and you will be charged!! So check your weight before you go, you can get your weight allowances from all airline websites.
- It's always a good idea to brush up on a few words of the language of the country you are visiting for your golf holiday. Simple words such as hello, thank you and goodbye are good to learn and it shows courtesy to your hosts and they will be more inclined to go that extra yard to help you!
Have a Great holiday!!
